    So true. I believe in our system, but not the wanton retention of jobs for the sake of making work.

    This whole union focus on protecting it’s own dues by keeping folks employed when their occupation is no longer needed is endemic.

    Meanwhile, those of us who recognize the boomer bulge in health consumption and are doing something about it probably won’t get a rebate for NOT using the health system (which is mis-named anyway – in North America it’s UnHealth). Providing incentives to individuals to achieve their own good health should be better supported, financially. Tax incentives now would pay dividends to the health system later.
